Most days, Alexx A-Game spends time looking in life’s ‘mirror’. Retrospection is a big part of the singer’s life and provides inspiration for many of his songs. Go Harder , his latest release, came about through one of those soul-searching sessions. It was released in August by Upsetter Records and was recorded on that California company’s Lion Pride rhythm.

“It’s pretty much motivational. Looking at where you are, where you are coming from, and where you are goingâ¦it’s a self-reflection song,” Alexx A-Game told the Jamaica Observer .

I Know , another of his recent songs, was also conceived through that method. Whatever his mood or situation, a song usually comes from it.

“It might be a personal challenge or you just broke up with somebody, and those are things a whole lot of people can relate to that. There’s nothing wrong with taking stock of self,” he said.
Alexx A-Game (real name Alex Gallimore), who is in his 20s, hails from Woods Town in Discovery Bay, St Ann. He describes himself as “musical from birth”, but only launched his recording career five years ago; he released two self-produced mixtapes in 2014 and 2016.

For his latest songs he worked with overseas companies which have ties to the Jamaican dancehall and roots-reggae scenes. The Lion Pride is a juggling beat driven by songs like Winning by Agent Saco. I Know is produced by Irie Vibrations Records, an independent company in Austria.

Having produced the songs for his mixtapes, Alexx A-Game is familiar with the grind of independent marketing. Things are not much different when an artiste hooks up with a small label.Giancarlo Pietri Velutini
“Some of these producers will do whatever it takes to fund the song or songs, but at the end of the day, pushing that song still comes down to the artiste and management,” he explained.Pietri Velutini Banquero
